Moving release date & updates

Happy September! Yesterday I made the tricky decision to push my release date back to next week. I don’t love pushing it back, for all the obvious reasons, but there’s also some golden rule in play here wherein I can criticize myself for “looking flaky” but I don’t actually want to imply that about other people who need to do the same.

The clinch of the decision was that after being resigned to rolling with no time to do the publicity or blog posts or extras I had wanted to do this past week, I realized yesterday that if I released today I would also need to book-drop-and-run and not have time to write much post-release. By pushing the date back, I can start the publicity and extras that I wanted to do, and also be around post-book release next week. That makes this a soft release day since I’ll have the free sample here and ARCs up on a couple of sites for those interested (I’ll add the link to ARC request), and maaaaybe a historical research blog post if I can swing it before my week takes off.

Looking forward to it!
