The final finalized release date (FINAL2.doc?) will be this Tuesday, barring the deeply unexpected. “Barring the deeply unexpected” goes without saying, one could argue, but what I’m quietly judging myself for here is that yes, some of what had me deciding to push it back the first time was outside my control, but where I actually erred was thinking I could bring things back together when I should have bit the bullet and pushed back two weeks in the first place. I have my first three blog posts actually drafted! I have time this week! It’s gonna be great (I hope)!
Having, at least, learned a very important lesson, I waited until today to commit to the new date (Tuesday the 23rd–I don’t know if releasing on a Tuesday matters for indies but I’m doing it anyway because why not). First publication week blog post will go up tomorrow, in which I talk about other pub week posts and putting characters from different genres in the same book.
I’m mildly mortified because, although being a new indie author means I am having a very minimal release and there are no other people to be affected except for a couple of book announcement posts having the wrong date now, I am very aware that that is generally not true of book releases with more people involved and publicity, which makes me look like I might be blithely inconveniencing other people. Luckily, this is a mildly mortified one-woman show for now. 🙂
